This series is seriously steamy historical steampunk (try saying that 10 times fast), with werewolves, magic, impressive machinery (of all sorts), and sexual tension you could cut with a knife (and thankfully, sexual fulfillment as well). Each book builds on the characters in the series, but they do give enough background that you could pick up one on its own and still enjoy the story.
