New Zealand’s Canvas Magazine Recommends

As part of my year-long adventure in New Zealand, I'm on a hunt to read more books by New Zealand authors, set in New Zealand, ones that mention New Zealand in a footnote, are recommended by Kiwis, etc. So, on one of my recent days off, I sat down with my first New Zealand book-centric … Continue reading New Zealand’s Canvas Magazine Recommends

December New Releases

Despite being in New Zealand, I still have time to get excited about the new books being released in the US this month. I have no idea about the publishing schedule in the rest of the world, so apologies for that. Their books are too beautiful not to be known worldwide, or at least, featured in a blog post.

Book Review: Lulu’s Mysterious Mission by Judith Viorst (and a new release!)

As a long-term fan of Judith Viorst (probably best known for her Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day series), I was excited to see her come out with something new for children with Lulu and the Brontosaurus in 2010. Lane Smith's illustrations were a perfect companion to her off-kilter writing style, … Continue reading Book Review: Lulu’s Mysterious Mission by Judith Viorst (and a new release!)
